glacier goats... david levy

My wife and I spent two weeks in the both the Canadian and US parks at Glacier in September of 2002. Our first traverse of the Going to the Sun Road, one of North America's premier, spectacular, drives, was filled with many stops to gape and capture (or attempt to capture). We had seen moose and bear to beat the band during the first several days, but had not, then or ever before, managed to see mountain goats in the wild. So, when we pulled into the parking lot at Logan Pass we were overcome with surprise to see several mountain goats roaming around the lodge and parking lot (presumably pandering). I grabbed my camera and followed this mother and child around for about ten minutes when they suddenly turned and "posed" for the group of eager photographers on their trail. It was definitely an "f8 and be there" moment which, when folks ogle at the print, I just tell them that I had to travel to great heights to get the photo.
